Grid buffer

By default, Tesphase only charges on true excess solar — the moment your AC or laundry uses it all, charging stops. A grid buffer lets the charge draw up to this much from the grid before stopping, so short appliance cycles don't interrupt it. Most two-AC homes are happy around 2.5 kW.

Note: the buffer means charging may draw a bounded amount of grid power. Your peak window (below) still pauses automatic charging entirely.

Peak window

Tesphase never starts or continues automatic charging during these hours, matching your utility's peak period. Set it to your plan's actual peak — e.g. PG&E E-TOU-D is 5–8 PM, so a TOU-D home can still charge on excess solar from 4–5 PM.

Charge rate

The amp range Tesphase is allowed to command. Max amps caps the fastest charge — lower it to protect a shared circuit or a smaller breaker. Min amps is the slowest charge Tesphase will start; below this it waits for more excess solar rather than trickle charging. Tesphase never exceeds your car's own limit either.
